Looking forward to seeing you at the party!
Thank you for following the link on my 100th birthday invitation to help celebrate. And, welcome to this website to learn about my most recent project. Please consider a donation in lieu of a birthday gift.
I've worked on many projects over my time. You might know about some of those from reading my memoirs: "Ben – The First Ninety-Five Years". One of my greatest interests is to help children and young people with their learning and education.
During my vacations near Puerto Vallarta, I have found a great cause in Volcanes. I would greatly appreciate your support of this excellent cause.
Volcanes is a poor community on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, that primarily serves students of families in the agriculture and tourism sectors. Many Volcanes families do not have the financial means for their children to attend school beyond the obligatory education to grade seven. Without further education, many children are destined to a life cycle of poverty.
The Volcanes Kids Education Program (VKEP) is dedicated to the betterment of these children, their families and the Volcanes Community. The program goal is to provide children with the opportunity to realize their potential through education. There are many aspects to VKEP such as English, Computer, Mathematics, Music, Spanish Intervention, and so on, but the program would not exist without the Volcanes teachers and scholarships. The State has provided a school facility, but funding for the teachers and scholarships is fully dependent on donations. The VKEP is a non-profit organization supported solely by donors. To learn more about VKEP, and the program costs, please see the VKEP website, volcanesproject.com. Teachers’ Salaries and the Scholarship Fund are the most important programs.
I would be pleased if you would consider making a donation on a one-time basis, or annual basis, to support the Volcanes Kids Education Program. The most cost-efficient way to make a donation is by sending a cheque to:
Saskatoon Rotary Club Charitable Trust Fund Inc.
Mail to: Saskatoon Rotary Club Charitable Trust Fund Inc.
